Boxing Equipment

It was one of those days last summer, when people were always outdoors, and I was on my way to visit my parents.  It was just a short walk and I decided to make a short walk out of it.  There were several joggers that afternoon, and it seems that there were other athletic types who’ve just finished their workout at the gym.

There was one teenager, looked like a college kid, who walked out of the local gym with her gym bag and her pink boxing gloves.  That was the first time I ever saw pink boxing gloves.  I mean, I’ve seen pink boxing gloves in sports accessories stores, but not seen them in the wild.

The girl was petite and slender, and the boxing gloves were draped around her neck.  The gym she just left was quite popular and had a good enrollment for aerobics, tae-bo, boxing and other martial arts.  I was thinking she might be practicing muay thai or kickboxing and not just regular boxing.  The gloves looked quite light for boxing.  And these were lace ups and not the velcro types other boxing trainees use.

If she didn’t have the boxing gloves, I would have thought she was a runner or a yoga type of person.  I guess there are different types who go for the more physical challenge of boxing, than I had thought.  I got a friend who had boxing lessons because it was a more strenuous.  I never did ask her what color gloves she had.
